Christmas greetings from America

The IGK Christmas party, to which the Hasselroth workforce was invited to an Italian restaurant, went off in high spirits. In addition to a multi-course meal, there were lots of tasty and useful gifts waiting for the employees, including a woolly hat with the company logo and their own name for everyone to wear in the cold season.

IGK founder and long-standing Chairman of the Management Board, Dr. Michael Vollrath-Rödiger, presented the gifts personally and expressed his thanks for the good working relationship. In his speech, he announced that he had handed over the chairmanship of the management board to James Rodo, who has been managing IGK North America for several years and will continue to drive forward the globalization of the company.

James Rodo also greeted the guests via a live link from North America and wished them a Merry Christmas. He said he was very much looking forward to his new role and announced that he would be visiting Hasselroth soon. Dr. Michael Vollrath-Rödiger will remain associated with the company as Managing Partner.

IGK launches reactive TPS system on the market

IGK is expanding its range of thermoplastic spacers for modern warm edge bonding solutions. In addition to the tried-and-tested IGK 611 and IGK 611 FH products, we are now launching a TPS system that reacts chemically with the glass and forms a permanently elastic bond. It can be processed precisely on automated extruder lines and significantly increases productivity in the production of double or triple insulating glass units. A unique advantage is that it can be combined with our polysulphide and polyurethane sealants. Certification of the new reactive TPS system is about to be finalised.

IGK honoured with gold medal

The award of the EcoVadis Gold Medal 2024 means that IGK is among the top 5% of companies assessed by EcoVadis in the last 12 months. For us as a medium-sized company, this recognition is a great success. We are proud that our commitment to sustainability has been recognised in this way.

The award underlines our endeavours to integrate ecological, social and economic responsibility into all our business areas and to create long-term sustainable solutions.

This success would not have been possible without the dedication and hard work of our entire team. We would like to thank all our employees, partners, stakeholders and everyone who has contributed to this success and look forward to making further progress together towards a sustainable future.

What are EcoVadis medals and badges?

EcoVadis Medals recognise performance against other assessed companies in the EcoVadis database. EcoVadis Medals are awarded to companies that have gone through the EcoVadis assessment process and can demonstrate a relatively strong management system that takes into account the sustainability criteria of the EcoVadis methodology.

Who is EcoVadis?

Review of glasstec 2024

From October 22 to 25, 2024, 1,257 exhibitors from 50 countries and more than 32,000 trade visitors from 121 nations met at glasstec in Düsseldorf to experience the latest technologies, trends and innovations along the entire value chain of glass production and processing.

At the IGK stand in Hall 17, employees from the head office, the European agencies and North America held numerous discussions with trade visitors and colleagues from the insulating glass industry. The interest in IGK's product portfolio made it clear that the processing quality and therefore the reliability of sealants plays a more central role than ever for machine manufacturers and glass producers. IGK's participation in the trade fair was worthwhile. Many new contacts were made.

Overall, glasstec 2024 met with an extremely positive response from trade visitors from all over the world, as the Düsseldorf trade fair management summed up. A high level of internationality and a high proportion of decision-makers were recorded. Almost 80 percent of the visitors were managers. Around 75 percent of visitors came from abroad, including numerous guests from Europe, North America and Asia. Germany, Italy, France, Poland and the Netherlands were particularly well represented, as were the USA and China.

Messe Düsseldorf announced that the next glasstec will take place from October 20 to 23, 2026.
